    Yes Richard.
For instance do you know what the "forbidden fruit" of Scripture actually is? I will give you a clue: it is not an apple.
Right, "fruit" in the scriptures many times is referring to works. They were being told not to try to live eternally by their works.
When Adam and Eve supposedly gained knowledge, what was it?
A knowledge of good and evil, which if they did it would cause them to die if they tried to live by it. What will kill us if we try to eat/live by it? The law, of course! Because we cannot keep it.

Concerning the tree of life they could have eat from and lived forever. What tree can we eat from/live by that will give us eternal life? Christ, of course!

Perhaps if you read that story understanding the symbology involved you might realise what it is teaching. And how naive it actually is. And what its definiton of Sin is... and it is not disobedience... it is sex.
The definition of sin is outlined by the law and is designed to bring us to Christ, (because we soon realize we cannot keep it,) wherein we can dwell in eternal life!
Which begs the question, with God knowing how ignorant we are why did He use such veiled language?------------- By faith I know He has a good reason.

    Mark 11:2 NRSA

    Luke 19:30 NRSA
saying, "Go into the village ahead of you, and as you enter it you will find tied there a colt that has never been ridden. Untie it and bring it here.

    John 12:14 NRSA
Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it; as it is written:
"Do not be afraid, daughter of Zion. Look, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey's colt!"

Matthew says Jesus told them to being two animals. Mark and Luke says Jesus told them to bring one animal. One of those is an error. It appears to be Matthew.

Matthew even goes so far as to have Jesus riding on both animals!
    Matthew 21 6 The disciples went and did as Jesus had directed them;
7 they brought the donkey and the colt, and put their cloaks on them, and he sat on them.

It appears the writer of the gospel attributed to Matthew misunderstood the prophecy, thinking it was about two animals, and tried to reconcile it with the story by making it two animals.

But the error I am pointing out is not about whether there were two animals or one. The error is about the words of Jesus: did Jesus tell the disciples to bring one animal or two? The gospels disagree in the words of Jesus, and there is an error.

Does this error matter to the overall story? No. Minor details like this do not discredit the scriptures, but they do show the man-made doctrine of inerrancy is not consistent with scripture.

Explain how this is not an error, Jim and Matthew. If you think you can explain away this one, we can go to the next one.
There is a reasonable explanation between all of their 'accounts' to what happened that day, beginning from Matthew's account, as according to the prophecy fulfillment, and not regards immediately as 'errors' of the Bible. There perhaps may be a difficulty in the translation from one language to another, or perhaps a hidden mystery within the Scripture for only the MESSIAH's fulfillment and only to His church is verified.

Matthew said that JESUS asked two of His disciples to go and untie the ass and a colt with it, and bring them back. First of all, the fulfillment Scripture say in verse 5, ................sitting upon an ass, and a colt, the foal of an ass. (KJV) ..., used to the yoke (Geneva Bible). It doesn't make sense that JESUS sat on them both riding to Jerusalem, therefore He truthfully sat on the unridden Colt, as according to the accounts of other disciples in general. That is the colt, the foal of the ass, used to the yoke as it is written, most probably already traveling with the mother, while nursing, eating and training by her. The ass probably have already been ridden by its owner and others, while the colt probably handled only with light loads for a start in training, as it was said to be used to the yoke, or perhaps in other words, already naturally born for the job.

The colt, the foal of the ass, used to the yoke, is which JESUS rode on to Jerusalem, and perhaps while the ass followed, or traveled ahead of them, perhaps guided by the disciples heading towards Jerusalem. Moreover the other disciples did not see necessary to add the 'ass' into their account, but only Matthew, who is among the first chosen disciples, including John and the other 10, who were with JESUS, apart from the other two who were disciple after JESUS' departure.

Some or rather putting all accounts together and by the Help of the HOLY SPIRIT the truth is revealed to us as still 'sound', therefore giving no room for the speculation or errors in the HOLY BIBLE.

Also, Ass's colt, meaning its offspring, the foal of the ass that has just been given birth or it is less than one year old.

May GOD the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST be honored, glorified and thanked, forever and ever. Amen

An excellent example of the twisting and turning that believers will go thru to make the book appear to be true.

It is not God that kills the children, not fate that butchers them or destiny that feeds them to the dogs.
