The Bible says the resurrection and "catching up" of the saints occurs at the last trump. The book of Revelation describes 7 trumpets.
Revelation 11 says
This is the last trumpet listed in Revelation. But what happens when it sounds? It sounds like the kingdom of God is established on earth! So which is it, the rapture or the reigning of Christ with His saints that happens at the last trumpet? According to the pretribbers, they're not the same event, there's a 7 year difference between them.
15And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
Here's another interesting verse from Rev 10:
The days? It sounds for days? What happened to being changed in the twinkling of an eye when the trumpet sounds?
7But in the days
of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
As I mentioned, Revelation lists 7 trumpets. When do the other 6 sound? Will we hear them or have we heard them audibly? Some theologians claim the first 6 are symbolic but the 7th will be literal. On what basis can they say that?
Isaiah 58:1 says
Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet
, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.
Establishing the law by receiving the righteousness which is by faith, without the deeds of the law!
