Bubba, it's amazing how many experts in Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic one finds on discussion boards. I can quote in Hebrew - it's easy to do a cut & paste - but that doesn't make me an expert in old testament Hebrew.

I know several Greek Scholars who will admit that they don't hold a candle to a translator. There was a time when I dreamed of being a translator and after all these years I realize that I will never qualify. I find it quite bothersome when some randomly cut and paste something that they cannot read and beyond that they cannot explain. If I can't read it, I can't explain it, but I am then limited to another persons opinion. I recognize that as not being a bad thing but how does one quote another with out first knowing the knowledge and integrity of that person?

Those who post what they cannot read really aren't fooling anyone.

MoreCoffee, I am really glad that you are a member of this forum. As they say in the hill country "he sure is a smart cookie"

This is one reason I like the NET Bible notes. There are several translators and we can read their bios and other work.

I do that with variant manuscripts. Diferent tanslators have different approachs to translation. I enjoy studying the differences.

Transliteration isn't rocket science. Why didn't you comment on the exactness of the Psalm quote in Matthew? What do your translations say? Lord? Is that very accurate?
