As you pointed out; the words that Jesus Christ speaks are spirit and they are life. So, by emphasizing the spiritual and doctrinal preservation of his words, even if there were such a thing as copyist errors; I felt that God had done what he promised.
The Lord got on my case yesterday about my questioning and presentations in this thread and I had to repent. It was a very unpleasant few hours - especially during my devotion time. But, in His mercy, He reminded me that I'm a son, and every son will receive chastening from a loving Father. So, I receive with joy and now refuse to bring those types of questions up about his word in a public forum such as this. I believe the words of the Lord; I trust them completely; I think we would all be lost without them. So praise God for his holy word - The Bible.
Funny you should mention that. As I was typing, it went through my head - why are you typing that! I have specifically avoided using it; even in my science work; just to give honor to the Lord Jesus Christ. You're right BC/AD is still the best way to go; inspite of the "modern" world. Why doyou use the term B.C.E.?
Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same.

The variants were not in the words themselves. From what I have read, the words were consistently agreeable with one another throughout all of the TR manuscripts.
God promised to preserve His Word, did He not? If we lost the originals, and the copies were full of error, then we have no assurance that we have the Word of God; unless, as I have said, the words were indeed preserved (as I believe they were) and the variants have no bearing on what man was originally given by inspiration of God.
My response to this is here:

“The Bible is not a first grade primer. It is God’s book. It is a book that must be diligently read. It is only by ‘searching the Scriptures’ that we find what pertains to life and death. It tells of creation, of the mighty universe, of the future or the past, of the Mighty God and His wonders, of the Holy Spirit’s ministry among Christians, of the Son of God’s great sacrifice for sin, of home in Heaven for the believer, and of a fiery hell for the unsaved."...Dr. Donald Waite
I have a few variants in the TR texts at home that I may bring up. But I have a similiar question to you. If the King James is perfect (and you and I both believe that as far as I know), you can only have one final authority. IF the KJV and the TR were to disagree, where is your final authority?

***For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ JesusTake care that no one takes you away by force, through man’s wisdom and deceit, going after the beliefs of men and the theories of the world, and not after Christ
And make sure Psalm 110:1 has God's name in it, and, by extension because it is a direct quote of Psalm 110:1, make sure Matthew 22:44 also has God's name in it!
This is Psalm 110:1 in Hebrew.

This is Matthew 22:44 in the Hebrew New Testament.
נאם יהוה לאדני שב לימיני עד־אשית איביך הדם לרגליך׃
יהוה is, of course, the tetragrammaton, the vowelless name of God.

Now the next thing that you are going to tell us is that you can read these squiggley lines. And make sure Psalm 110:1 has God's name in it, and, by extension because it is a direct quote of Psalm 110:1, make sure Matthew 22:44 also has God's name in it!
