Default What does it mean to "subdue" and "to have dominion" ? Is it Science?

"Science as a legitimate exercise was given to mankind when the Creator told Adam and Eve, "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over…every living thing that moveth upon the earth" (Genesis 1:28). Theologians and language scholars have long held that "subdue" implies a serious study of creation, discovering its true nature. To "have dominion" over creation implies applying that knowledge to glorify the Creator and benefit man, and so manage creation." John Morris, PHD.

The word subdue in Genesis 1:28 is 3533Strongs-kabash-to tread down, to disregard, to conquer, to subjegate, violate-bring into bondage, force, keep under, subdue, bring into subjection.

Dominion was translated from7287 to tread down, rule over.
Malachi 3:2 But who may abide the day of His coming? and who shall stand when He appeareth? for He is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:
4:1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

Thank you for your response. Sorry, it took so long to respond. I love it when folks actually learn the definitions of words and apply them.
