Hello EdLong and Eleven. Thanks for joining with me in this bible study. The easiest way to get to the study is to click on 'Community" on the navigation bar at the top of the main page. Select 'Social Groups' then click on the bible icon (Bible Study). It's set up like a sub-forum so that we can have different threads going. I am new to this so I hope it works the way I think it does and hope to see you both there! Luv

I would like to try out the 'Social Group' aspect of this forum and see if we can get a back-to-basics bible study going. Please let me know if you are interested and if you have any ideas what specifically you would like to study. Currently, I am studying James with one group and reading Leviticus on my own. I am on chapter 19. I am open to suggestions however.

Hi JonMarie. I guess I chose my signature partly based on an incredible book by Jon Bevere "The Fear of the Lord" and partly because I have seen so much of a relaxation of moral principles in the modern church. I think when we begin to find the fear of the Lord (as in an understanding of how great His holiness is compared to ours and how much higher He is than us) that we will find a much closer walk with Him. I think one of the downfalls af twenty and twenty first century Christianity is that we fell away from the foundations of the Holiness Movement that the modern church was built upon.
